Blog N°7: Music
Today I'm going to talk about music, punctually, about my favorite bands and musicians. Most of my favorite music artist are women or music bands led by them, I believe this happens to me because maybe, as a woman I can feel an emotional and visceral connection whit them and their art. Also, the artist that I'm going to share in this blog, are known for their sensitive creativity that expresses in all their aesthetic in a very innovative way, and to me the most important quality of these girls, is how they share their experience of life, the complex process of self-construction and how they live and feel these process as women or through their feminity.
First, I´m going to talk about the music band Portishead, a British band from 1991 where the singer is Beth Gibbons, who also writes most of the lyrics of the band. She was rase on a small farm by their religious parents who don't understand her connection to poetry and music and tried to involve her more with the hard work of the family farm. That's why she felt most of her childhood and youth pretty lonely about her feelings whit poetry, she didn't know how to explain them or made something useful whit their poems, but then at 22 years old, she moved to Bristol for a new beginning and meet the rest of the band, where she could express her beautiful poetry.
Now, I'm going to talk about Lykke Li, she is a Sweden singer and composer. To me, she is a very strong woman because in her lyrics you can understand the painful process of construct yourself again when you are or fell a broken woman. Her art helps me to understand and live my adolescence, my youth, and even my sensibility right now with strong eyes.
I´m pretty grateful about how both girls influence in my life whit their music, poetry and complete artistic proposal if you didn't know their music, I invite you to meet their work, and if you do, hope you like them too.
bye.

I love so much to Lykke Li!!
